Coppe’ (pronounced Co-pa’y) is a Japanese electronic music singer-songwriter and music producer. She has released eleven solo albums on her self-owned Mango + Sweet Rice label. I would describe Coppe’ as a funny and always happy and she’s one of the most generous persons i know.

She has 11 albums under her belt and she has impressive lineup of co-produceders on her albums with names like; Terry D, DJ Vadim, Plaid, Tipsy, Kris ‘Thrash’ Weston to just name a few, her music spectra is wide and it’s sounds clean and almost organic. Listing to her songs is like traveling into a sonic cosmos.

As i write this she is putting the finishing touches to her twelfth album “Artificial Insemination” So keep you eye’s and ears open for that one! It will have mixes by Plaid and a very jazzy track by Kris Weston. And Coppe’ told me that there will be a remix version of Bones + Ashes by O.S.T (Chris Douglas) And this track will give you chicken skin all over that’s a promise! Acording to Coppe’ this will be a very special album.

Found this “Classic” album from the Norwegian duo, don’t know if it is has any value to it or if it’s rare, but i got it cheep.

I love their new 2009 album “Junior” too but this one means alot to me, so many memories especially to the song “So Easy” Mmm…

The remixes on the Japanese bonus disc are pretty amazing, i’ve never heard them before, impressive lineup of remixers.

There’s something special about Japanese pressing, you always get at least one bonus track, or a fancy cover.

Got to hand it to the Japanese they sure are thorough and they manufacture CD’s very carefully, that’s what makes it special to collect Japanese CD releases.

Ayumi Hamasaki, born October 2, 1978 is a Japanese singer-songwriter and former actress. Also called Ayu by her fans, Hamasaki has been dubbed the “the Empress of J-Pop” due to her popularity and widespread influence in Japan.

Born and raised in Fukuoka, she moved to Tokyo at fourteen to pursue a career in entertainment. In 1998, under the tutelage of Avex CEO Max Matsuura, she released a string of modestly selling singles that concluded with her 1999 debut album A Song for XX, which debuted atop the Oricon charts and stayed there for four weeks in a row, establishing her popularity in Japan.

Because of her constantly changing image and tight control over her artistry, Hamasaki has become a “trendsetter” and an “icon of fashion” in Asia her popularity and influence in music and fashion extend to China, Singapore and Taiwan. She has appeared in or lent her songs to many advertisements and television commercials. Though she originally supported this, a 2001 event in which Avex forced her to put her greatest hits album in direct competition with Hikaru Utada’s Distance made Hamasaki reconsider and eventually oppose her status as an Avex “product”.
