The move was fairly simple, always backup your MySQL DB! If you’re to make any changes.

Once the blog was moved (all files copy over in case of moving location or server or new domain name properly propagated across Internet for new domain name), the first thing to change is to tell WordPress the new blog location (wp-config.php should be no changes, and .htaccess file should be also no changes. If for some reason mod_rewrite rules for friendly URLs no longer works, you can always regenerate the .htaccess file via WP Administration’s Update Permalinks page). This value can be changed via WordPress Options page, but if you no longer able to access to old blog URL, you have to modify the value via MySQL database.

Note: The guide uses SQL statements based on MySQL replace() function to modify the database. To run SQL queries, login to MySQL database that houses WordPress tables via phpMyAdmin or login to the DB server and run MySQL client as root.

To update WordPress options with the new blog location, use the following SQL command:

UPDATE wp_options SET option_value = replace(option_value, ‘http://www.old-domain.com’, ‘http://www.new-domain.com’) WHERE option_name = ‘home’ OR option_name = ‘siteurl’;

After that you will need to fix URLs of the WordPress posts and pages, which translated from post slug, and stored in database wp_posts table as guid field. The URL values in this field are stored as absolute URLs instead of relative URLs, so it needs to be changed with the following SQL query:

UPDATE wp_posts SET guid = replace(guid, ‘http://www.old-domain.com’,'http://www.new-domain.com’);

If you have linked internally within blog posts or pages with absolute URLs, these links will point to wrong locations after you move the blog location. Use the following SQL commands to fix all internal links to own blog in all WordPress posts and pages:

UPDATE wp_posts SET post_content = replace(post_content, ‘http://www.old-domain.com’, ‘http://www.new-domain.com’);

Browse through WordPress blog to check if everything is okay. You also need to re-login to WP Administration as authentication cookie has now became invalid due to different domain.

By manually copying over videos using file transfer apps on a computer and the iPhone, the community member says he could play up to a 1080p (1920×1080) clip at 30 frames per second at up to a 35Mbps without any lag or stuttering. Although they don’t show in the official iPod app, they work using Apple’s built-in video player when called by a third-party program.”

WHITETREE
CLOUDLAND
MARCH 2009

“Cloudland” takes inspiration from the story of Amos Tutuola “The Palm-Wine Drinkard,” and wants to be a test of strength against the cold and frenetic pulse of our present technology.

“Cloudland” is a unique album, with an immediacy and a depth that only inspired the meeting and exchange between these artists could be exceptional. The explanation of why it is quite obvious is that both Lippok are not the classic electronic composers such as Einaudi is not a classical composer in the common sense of the term. These are artists that are beyond the rules of classification between genres and music scenes.

Listening to Cloudlands makes my mind wonder and my thought drifts away, it’s like sitting in a boat gently gliding on still waters watching the sun set.

It’s hard to describe this beautiful music, but if you mix some jazzy works of Richard D. James and season it with some Eric Satie and maybe some Eno you should get pretty close to “Whitetree – Cloudland”. Ludovico Einaudi plays the classic piano on this album and Ronald & Robert Lippok creates these beautiful electronic atmospheres around the piano.

Give it a listen! It’s available @ iTunes store and worth every cent, please support these talented artists and join me on this journey.

The text editor that comes with WordPress 2.6 has some interesting things added.
When you have images within the content, you can float them inside the post so that the text wraps around the images properly. You can align the images to be “left”, “right” or “centered”.

When you use the text editor to align the images, WordPress adds class=”alignleft”, class=”alignright” or class=”aligncentered” to the ‘img’ tags or its surrouding ‘div’ element, when you choose left, right or center alignment for your images.

The post looks aligned to the left, right or centered within the WordPress admin area, but when you see the post on your site, it may not look properly aligned. It is because the theme that you are using, may not be aware of those classes added by WordPress.

How do you make your site’s theme to be aware of these classes?

You have to add the style definitions for these classes in your current theme’s stylesheet.?Open your style.css in your Theme Editor [Login to your site and click on Design -> Theme Editor].? Add the following code to the end of style.css.

img.alignleft, div.alignleft
{
float:left;
margin:0 0.5em 0.5em 0;
}
img.alignright, div.alignright
{
